A new Alessandra Ambrosio Planet Blue Clothing Line as been launched by the Victoria’s Secret star. Exclusive to Planet Blue, Alessandra’s collection of bohemian-style beach wear is called Ale and features casual, loose-fitting clothes that emphasize the body.
The dresses are very feminine: an off-the-shoulder gown in paisley shades of purple and burnt orange; a maxi-dress with spaghetti straps in a swirling jungly print with a nod towards tie-die, in shades of orange and brown; a purple mini-dress with bat wing sleeves and gathers at the waist; A pale pink mini-dress with floating sleeves and peasant-style drawstring neckline with ruched waist and a couple of layered frills in the skirt. The dress in which she made her début for the launch is a simple pale pink maxi-dress, with delicate straps elegantly criss-crossed over the back.
There are some casual outfits too, such as the easy- to-wear jump suit in pale pink with wrapover top, long sleeves and drawstring waist, loosely worn by Alessandra to reveal lots of cleavage. A bikini top and shorts comes in a striking black and red banded print on white, and is worn with brown suede boots.
A pink asymmetric top with dark red flecks shows off a trim midriff when worn with white shorts and a chunky leather belt. A mini-skirt with deep ruffled waist and flirty layers beneath echoes the paisley print of the maxi-dress in shades of orange and purple. A black broderie anglaise sleeveless top is worn with distressed denim shorts. By way of a cover-up, there is a white fringed poncho with patterned ribbon at edges of sleeve and hem.
Accessories include floppy wide-brimmed hats, scarves and headbands, and ethnic style jewelry such as colored beads and moon-shaped pendants. The Brazilian model says she fully identifies with the brand, which suits her laid-back sensual style. The range is exclusive to Planet Blue, with prices from $60 to $260.
