Country fans will be delighted at the choice of Carrie Underwood for Nicole by OPI 2014 Nail Polish Collection. The All-American Girl has found her Temporary Home in the ad campaign, and fans of flashy nails will no doubt be Blown Away by the latest Look at Me lacquers.
The blonde Grammy award-winning songstress is pictured in a frilly pale pink gown and showing off one of her new nail colors. Her signature shade, ‘Carrie’d Away,’ is a glittering reference to her gold discs. Other shades in the 14 -strong collection also reference the singing star, such as a scarlet shade called ‘American as Apple Pie,’ or a purplish-brown called ‘Backstage Pass.’ Four luscious pink shades are called ‘Love my Pups’ (pale) ‘Carnival Cotton Candy’ (medium) and two more intense shades, ‘Color Me Country’ and ‘Some Hearts.’ A more peachy shade is named ‘Sweet Daisy’ and the nearest to nude is ‘Southern Charm.’
At the more funky end of the spectrum there is ‘Fisher Queen,’ the color of eggplant, and ‘Goodbye Shoes,’ a gray-green hue.
There are also some great glitzy party colors. As well as the glittering gold of her signature polish, there is a multi-colored glitter called ‘Lips Are Dripping Honey,’ silver and pastel confetti called ‘Party Bus’ and a white frosted shade called Sing You Like a Bee.’
Artistic Director of OPI, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, says Carrie evokes strong emotions in her listeners through her music, and they wanted to produce a range of nail colors that women could also relate to passionately. The new shades are intended to convey the range of feelings in Carrie’s songs, from soft sweetness through darker moods to playfulness. Not only did they work closely with Carrie to produce the lacquers, but it is the first time that Nicole OPI have created a signature color for one of their celebrity partners. The Carrie Underwood/Nicole nail collection will appear in stores this month.
