This mid-February has started off with the Kate Upton Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2017 Issue. For her third time, Kate Upton was the cover girl, gracing three different covers of the issue and she looks sensational. The 24 year-old blonde bombshell announced that she would be on the cover while on Jimmy Kimmel Live and even though she’s received a lot of flak in the past for being curvy by industry standards, her 2017 cover girl status has trumped that notion. In fact, the issue’s theme is about women of every age and body type being accepted.
The issue celebrates how all women are unique and special in their own way and that they need to be celebrated. In fact, earlier this week, the Kate Upton’s cover girl image was projected onto the front of the Empire State Building putting a dent in the archaic argument about the beauty of only one body type.
Despite all the positive attention the Swimsuit issue is getting, fans on Twitter were quick to point out that she wasn’t actually wearing a swim suit on either one of the covers. It is one of the most talked about things on Twitter about the 2017 SI Swimsuit Issue. That said, the Twitter criticism is simply taking a light note because the focus is still on the exceptional cover girl and the incredible message in this issue.
