Andreas Melbostad is the new Creative Director of Diesel Black Gold. The collection features items such as studded, leather biker jackets, denim, tuxedo jackets, paneled sweaters, printed jeans and t-shirts. These clothing items make women feel confident, trendy and sexy. The designs are inspired by the work-wear that painters, plaster workers and firemen wear.

Special items in the collection include, a leather and waxed cotton motorbike jacket and coat. The clothing features structured shoulders, slim fits, belts and pockets, a zipper, buckle and snap closures. Quilted details have been created in the leather sleeves and shoulders.

Biker trousers are slim fit and sculpt the figure amazingly. A beautifully tailored jacket cuts both leather and denim into wool. The tailored racer jacket is fantastic in military green and there is even a wonderful, leather biker dress that features metal studs.

Women who love Diesel Black Gold have a powerful sense of their own identity being strong and outgoing. Diesel Black Gold stands out from the crowd and has a powerful identity. It is strongly connected to the rock-chic attitude. Andreas Melbostad has faced challenges when trying to further the product whilst sticking to its own identity.

Andreas Melbostad was inspired by the desire for speed, the love of the open road and the ambiance of a traditional gas station. Melbostad loves the attitude of the collection and is inspired by its courageous and powerful approach. It is a challenge to design a product for women who are confident of their own, independent style.

Andreas Melbostad has just taken over from Sophia Kokosalaki who originally held the position for three years. Kokosalaki left the company in September so that she could pursue her own brand. Melbostad studied fashion at the Royal Academy in London and began his successful career at Nicole Farhi. He was spotted by Alber Elbaz, in 1996 and worked with him at Yves Saint-Laurent, before he went on to work at Donna Karan, Nina Ricci and Calvin Klein.
