Critics Choice Awards Recognize TV Shows

The Beverly Hilton was the setting of the second edition of the Critics Choice Awards. The awards are organized and awarded by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association. The aim of these awards is to recognize the best television series and the actors.
Homeland was recognized as the best series in the Drama category with starring actress, Claire Danes getting the best actress award. Bryan Cranston of “Breaking Bad” that shows on AMC went home with the best actor award in the same category. Dance series swept the reality show host category. “Dancing with the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance” hosts tied for top position.

The awards also recognized yet to be released shows. The adjudicators have the privilege of having a sneak peek unlike us but given the way the prizes went, we can tell what to look out for this fall. The most exciting new series that will be premiering beginning this summer include “The Newsroom” on HBO, ABC’s “Nashville” and “The Following” on Fox. Future editions promise much more excitement going by the outcome of the 2012 Critics Choice Awards.
