You will remember Harry Morgan as Colonel Potter on the hit television series MASH. But that wasn’t all that you would have seen him in, there were another nine television series that he would star in, included Dragnet. Plus his times on the Broadway stage and 50 different films as well, a busy man and one who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 96.
The actor had been suffering from pneumonia, and died in his home located in Brentwood. An actor who had the knack to play not only a warm and loving type of character, but also a funny one who would have you laughing!
In the past he had been in movies beside many stars, like Elvis Presley, John Wayne, Henry Fonda, James Garner, and Dan Aykroyd. Acting was actually not his first choice of a career.
He was born in 1915 in Detroit; he actually had studied pre-law while attending the University of Chicago. It didn’t take long after starting public speaking classes that he would extend his experience to the stage. He gained his starting main roll by playing in the Broadway play Golden Boy, with Lee J. Cobb and Karl Malden.
There are many other roles that he would play through the years, and he would always do a great job. No services have been planned as of yet, but we wish the family our condolences.
