Alexa’s Chung Well-Dressed Nails with Added Vitamins

In August we’ll be seeing the launch of the Nails Inc. Alexa Chung Fabric Inspired Nail Polish Collection, and the sneak preview by Alexa via social media suggests this will be innovative and exciting. She has joined Poppy Delevingne as brand ambassador for the British company that Thea Green founded in 1999, and has been involved in the development of the NailKale product. The idea is that kale, the wonderveg, is particularly nourishing for nails so the polish comes with extract of kale to provide vitamins A, E and C along with a special Regenerating Complex to keep nails in tip-top condition.

The polishes also come with a new slant as the six shades are made in textures resembling fabrics. Alexa Lace in Red has different sized particles to imitate a lace effect, while Alexa Cashmere in Mink contains glassy pearls in a matte polish. There is also Silk in Black, that glides on with silky smoothness, and Leather in Black which dries to a matt leather look – a particular favorite of Alexa’s. For a more glam effect there is Alexa sequins in black and gold, with metallic gold glitter over a matt black background, described by the model as ‘a little disco on my nails.’ Finally there is Camouflage, a green and nude mix of metallic and matt particles.

The surprises don’t end there, as the container for the Nails Inc. Alexa Chung Fabric Inspired Nail Polish Collection has also been completely redesigned. Thea Green says she wanted her containers to look more like perfume bottles, and she worked with Fabien Baron to develop a heavy glass bottle and stylish metal top which incorporates a precision brush applicator. The new container has 40% more polish than the previous bottles and will retail at £15. In June, there will also be a limited edition of Red Lace for £12 available from Nailsinc.com.
