Euphoria: a feeling of great happiness or well-being. Such is the state that Calvin Klein imagines his customers will attain when wearing the eponymous perfume. We already know that this classic fragrance has been around awhile. Introduced in 2005, it has gone through various incarnations – Euphoria for Her and Him, then Forbidden Euphoria – and now it will wear the new face of Hungarian model Vanessa Axente, as Endless Euphoria hits the shelves in February 2014.
Whilst Euphoria for Her offered floral and juicy fruit notes, and the version for men was more spicy and woody, Endless Euphoria will be floral once again but with top notes of cherry blossom, bergamot and mandarin. There are rose and violet aromas at its heart, and sensual base notes of bamboo, sandalwood and musk. The result is a light, fresh version aimed at a younger market. It comes in a pastel pink sculpted bottle containing 75ml of Eau de Toilette.
The Endless Campaign follows previous ones featuring Natalia Vodianova and Lara Stone who, like Vanessa, were also established models on the CK catwalk. Currently rated at number eleven of the Top 50 models at Models.com, Vanessa is described by designer Francisco Costa as ‘youthful, sexy, intelligent and confident’ which makes her the perfect Calvin girl.
The visual imagery is very romantic, featuring a sultry-looking Vanessa in a revealing pleated gown that flows upwards into a pastel sky. The model’s blonde beauty, and the pale skirt apparently caught in an updraught, references the iconic image of Monroe over the New York subway grating.
The blissfully floating gown is from the Calvin Klein Collection and was designed by Francisco Costa. It was styled for the shoot by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, and photographed by Steven Meisel. The TV campaign was directed by Fabien Baron, and we can expect to see Endless Euphoria rolling out over the media pretty soon in the New Year.
