Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Arc saw the anime’s comeback after a whole decade. Fans all around the globe were super excited as they had another chance to relive their childhood watching Bleach. However, it did not come without disappointment as it turns out Jamieson Price, the voice actor of Chad, or Yasutora Sado is not going to be coming back again this time around.
Why Is Jamieson Not Coming Back?
The voice actor revealed on Twitter his personal reasons due to which he chose not to appear on the Bleach comeback anime. He stated how he loved the series but has decided not to audition for characters of color anymore. And his reason could not be anything more but valid.
Jamieson Price went on to explain how white people like himself have had access to opportunities way too long in the industry, and how he is now stepping aside to open the door of access to somebody who voices the character with the same love and pride but has more life experience than him.
This gesture of Price was much appreciated by the fans and users on Twitter, and while it may suck that we do not get to see the original voice actor return to act out our favorite character, it is on us to understand too why the decision was made and to receive the new voice actor well.
Who Is The New Voice Actor Of Chad In Bleach
Requesting everybody to give the same love as they gave him, Price introduced Alain Mesa as the new voice actor of Chad, telling him he has some big shoes to fill.
Alain Mesa has previously worked in video games like Forza Horizon 5 as well as Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II. He was also received well by the audience when Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War finally came out, hence fulfilling Price’s request.
Chad’s character in the Bleach anime is iconic as he is one of the most fan-favorite characters. Known for his immense physical strength as well as for being a close friend to Ichigo, the main protagonist of the series, he has managed to capture the heart of many.
Jamieson Price’s gesture to step aside to open up doors of access and opportunity to others should be an example set in stone to others. He was also appreciated by other voice actors such as Anairis Quiñones, who have worked in anime like My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
