Apparently, the real reason Clint Eastwood’s wife may have checked in to a rehab clinic is due to the fact their marriage isn’t going swimmingly well anymore.
The veteran actor’s other half, Dina Eastwood nee Ruiz, has allegedly gone into a rehab facility voluntarily so that the facility can help her cope with anxiety and depression issues. And she may even decide to file for divorce according to gossip site TMZ.com.
Dina starred in her own E! reality TV show, “Mrs Eastwood and Company” in 2012 and has been with her husband since 1996. The pair first met in 1993 when Dina interviewed the then 62-year-old Hollywood megastar as a 27-year-old reporter. The couple have a 16-year-old daughter Morgan and live at Carmel-by-the-Sea in California.
The 47-year-old, who is also a former TV news anchor, reportedly checked herself into an exclusive rehab’ centre in Arizona for her course of treatment. The couple are thought to have hit a rocky patch in their marriage over recent months.
Clint, meanwhile, is thought to believe firmly in rehab and has reportedly helped sponsor a facility in Monterey, California, which has its youth addiction treatment scheme named after him.
Eastwood’s history with the women in his life was always somewhat “chequered” until he met Dina. In fact, the veteran Hollywood star has fathered seven children by five different mothers and was once described as a “serial womanizer” by his biographers. He has only been married once before Dina, though, having wed Maggie Johnson in December 1953, just six months after they first met on a blind date.
But he has reportedly enjoyed affairs with various actresses including Catherine Deneuve, as well as script analyst Megan Rose, James Brolin’s ex-wife Jane, columnist Bridget Byrne and former competitive swimmer Anita Lhoest.
Quite what Clint is making of the temporary split in his marriage is anyone’s guess. In the meantime, there’s one “Clint Eastwood” posting on the Betfair Casino forum – so either someone is taking the legend’s name for his “handle” or the veteran actor has a little more time on his hands while his other half is checked in to rehab?
OK, we know it’s not the real Clint chatting in the Betfair Casino, but the man does have a little “form” here. First off, there’s WMS Gaming’s well-known slot machine game “Dirty Harry” – “you’ve got to ask yourself a question: ‘do I feel lucky?’ Well, do ya…, punk?” which is a highly popular casino slot – particularly in Vegas. Then again, the great man was, of course, to be seen in casinos in his last ever action film from 1990, “The Rookie” which saw the big casino heist and Clint as veteran cop Nick Pulovski winning out as ever.
Whether Clint will be as successful in saving his marriage, though, is quite another matter. Let’s hope he’s feeling lucky.
