After nine sad seasons, college Basketball coach Bruce Brent Weber has been fired! Athletic director Mike Thomas has announced that Illinois has decided to sack him for good right after the recent Big Ten tournament loss.
In 2004, Weber succeeded in taking Illinois all the way to the NCAA tournament. His previous successes have gone down the drain. Weber just can’t seem to get it together these days and his recent coaching just cannot compete with the victories he had experienced back in the year 2005.
During the passed five years, Illinois has seemed to be getting nowhere fast, which was one of the contributing factors in the decision to fire Coach Weber.
Assistant Coach Jerrance Howard will be coaching this college basketball team until another head Coach is chosen to take Weber’s place. The search for a new coach will start immediately and this time Illinois is not willing to settle for just anyone.
