The coming season of “The X-Factor” has added another superstar to its judges table. Demi Lovato will join Britney Spears, L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell on the panel. Lovato, a nineteen year old singing siren, is a surprise choice for the job. Cowell was seeking to replace two other female judges that he fired earlier this year.
Pusyycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul who also adjudicated on “American Idol” will be replaced by the two new judges on the Fox TV series. In the shake-up, the longstanding host Steve Jones was also shown the door. Demi Lovato joins X-Factor as a surprise choice given the sort of names that were being thrown about as potential judges. Mariah Carey was deemed as a strong candidate alongside Janet Jackson.
Demi and Britney, former Disney princesses, will be presented at the show’s season presentation in New York on Tuesday evening. Although confirmation of Lovato’s contract is pending, it is said that Spears will receive US $ 15 million for the first season.
