Easy Ways To Look More Like Your Favorite Celebrity

Everybody picks up style tips from celebrities – and the top fashion houses know it. That’s why they shower them with expensive dresses and tempt them with freebies. They know they will raise their profile and make more sales. Of course, for us mere mortals, it’s a little tougher. But, it’s certainly not impossible.

We’re going to take a look at several ways you can look more like your favorite celeb. Now, before we start, some people take this way too far. There’s no need to undergo surgery, or splash out a few hundred thousand on a couple of new dresses.

Plus, don’t be afraid of getting it wrong. Famous folks can afford to pay for personal dressers, who understand how to hit the right notes every time. We don’t have that luxury, so we all need to learn a little instead. Here are some ideas for you to get started.

Study them

Again, it’s easy to go too far with this – you don’t want to end up with a criminal record for stalking. And anyway, all the top celebrities are covered in great depth in magazines and online. So, take a few notes on what they wear – and how they wear it. Do they use the classic wardrobe and spruce it up with a few trendy extras and accessories? When you see a great photo of them wearing amazing clothes, make a note of what they are – and why they look so good. Once you start to understand how their clothes fit together, you can try experimenting yourself.

Know your limitations

OK, so let’s get this out of the way at an early stage. Looking good is all about making the best of your body shape. So, if you look more like Hillary Clinton than Miley Cyrus, you need to think long and hard about copying Miley’s dress sense. That’s not to say you can’t take a little inspiration. But, it’s best to think about finding a famous person whose dress sense you admire, but also has a similar body shape as you. It’s easy to do – head over here to find a variety of celebrity heights and weight. It will give you a much better chance of looking your best, and help you avoid any fashion disasters.

Watch your makeup

When you look at a famous person in a magazine, their skin looks flawless. Of course, there is likely to be a lot of Photoshopping going on here, and what you see may not be the whole truth. But, try and avoid the temptation of laying on the makeup as thick as your inspiration. They wear it like that because they are on the TV, or know they are going to end up in a magazine. But, for everyday people, it can look way over the top. It’s bad for your skin, too – not to mention expensive. A little makeup can go a long way, and you need just enough to draw out your features. Avoid painting yourself completely, and you will look all the better for it.
There’s a lot more to this, of course. But these three basic principles should get you looking something like your favorite celeb. Take a look around our blog for some more inspiration.
