A Christmas Party in full swing is the theme of the Armani Exchange Holiday 2013 campaign, yet it has been shot in sober black and white. This only serves to emphasize the smooth lines and cool casual feel of the clothes, which still look stunning on top models such as Agne Konciute, Julia Frauche and Katya Riabinkina. Joining them are the two Simons, Nessmann and Van Meervenne and Alex Cunha.
If it’s party wear you are looking for girls, Armani has a range of options. Most of the dresses come in plain black but a few are patterned. If Sixties Psychedelia is your thing, you might consider the mini-dress in a whirly black and white pattern print. A sexy glimpse of flesh is visible in a black double-layered dress, with a herringbone pattern on the see-through yoke, and at the hem.
Accessories are simple: a small bauble on a long chain, a single row of beads around the wrist, a shiny black clutch with a metal clasp. For outdoor wear, the black quilted coat is a winner, and there is a light-toned gilet too, with furry panels.
When it comes to separates, the casual option is a check shirt – either large or small checks – worn with black pants. A self-belted chiffon tunic comes with long sleeves and black cuffs, to tone with a black miniskirt. A smart black jacket can be worn with a scoop-necked top and slimline pants – or even hot pants!
For men, a leather jacket with faux fur collar gives that stylish retro look, especially over a wide check pattern shirt and jeans. Or for a more modern look, a light-colored leather jacket with slanting zip-pockets in the chest. Unisex jackets, with long lean lapels, suit both sexes beautifully.
