The choice of Gisele Bundchen for the Isabel Marant Fall 2014 Campaign is an interesting one. The 33-year-old Brazilian supermodel last worked for the brand three years ago, with Daria Werbowy taking up the mantle in between. This is quite a change of direction from the model’s usual sexy look, as the Paris fashion brand has more of an androgynous slant, based on menswear.
The campaign was shot by Mario Testino in New York, and Gisele is shown in minimal makeup and maximum cover-up, with her long blonde hair swinging free. The clothing is loose-fitting and casual chic, including knitwear and suits. In one shot she wears a woolly jacket in a tweedy material in olive green, with toning top and trousers with a buckled belt. A monochrome shot shows her in another loose tweed jacket with wide retro-mannish crease-bearing trousers. The dress on offer in this sneak peak selection is another black and white shot, with Gisele lying on a wooden bench and cushions, legs in the air. The tunic-style dress has long sleeves and a very bold frieze design reminiscent of the Greek key motif. She also sports a pair of double-buckled high-heeled boots.
Gisele has been in the news recently for her support of the Brazilian home team. She appeared alongside Neymar da Silva Santos Junior, who plays for Barcelona, on the cover of Vogue Brazil. The pair were shown wearing white with Gisele bearing the Brazilian flag. The superstar model, married to American football star Tom Brady who plays for the New England Patriots, is also scheduled to present the world cup to the winning team. Although Gisele has been modelling for a decade and now has two children, she still looks stunning and the understated style of Isabel Marant compliments her elegant maturity perfectly. A great ambassador for the brand’s Fall collection.
