It is easy to conclude that Gojo Satoru is the most admired character in the series. Often passing even Yuji Itadori, the main protagonist of the show, in terms of popularity.
Who Is Gojo Satoru?
Satoru is portrayed as a mentor to Itadori in the series, but he is much more than that. Considered the most powerful sorcerer in the world, he has two incredibly rare innate techniques, The Limitless and the Six Eyes, and is the first person to inherit the two at the same time in four hundred years, realistically making him untouchable in battle.
However, he is not only known because he is the most powerful, Satoru has managed to become quite the fan favourite character due to his charm and humour, which he even uses in the middle of battles at times.
Satoru’s Voice Actor Reaction To Fans
Yuichi Nakamura, voice actor for Gojo Satoru in Jujutsu Kaisen has revealed that he does not understand why fans are obsessed with his character.
Myamura, a Jujutsu Kaisen news account on Twitter revealed last month the voice actor’s reaction to Satoru’s popularity.
“When people say “I like Gojo, He’s so cool, He’s popular”, I honestly don’t get it & it makes me think “You are calling a guy ‘cool’ whom you don’t really know much about. Are you guys alright? LoL” -Nakamura.
Gojo versus Sukuna
Ryomen Sukuna, the cursed spirit that lives in Yuji Itadori’s body essentially using him as a vessel is the main antagonist of the series. Being even called the “King of curses“, Sukuna is one of the most powerful characters in the series.
It was revealed that Sukuna himself was a sorcerer over a thousand years ago and was known to be a powerful and ruthless sorcerer who killed many other sorcerers.
Sukuna’s fingers were eventually found and possessed by humans, if someone was to consume the said finger, they would have a chance to gain his power, but they would also be possessed by him just like in the case of Itadori.
Both Satoru and Sukuna have an arsenal of abilities up their sleeves, and while a final deciding fight is pending between the two, we are free to speculate who would end up winning the match.
Sukuna is a special-grade curse, meaning he is one of the most powerful curses in the world. He has a vast amount of cursed energy and excels in hand-to-hand combat with even the ability to use the cursed energy to enhance his physical attributes.
Malevolent Shrine, his domain expansion, is of another league of its own and is easily one of the most powerful domain expansion techniques in the series. While Satoru’s domain expansion, unlimited void, is also powerful, it is nowhere as near destructive as Malevolent Shrine.
While Sukuna exceeds in raw power, Satoru’s main strength comes from techniques. His signature technique, Infinity, allows him to manipulate the space around him, creating an invisible barrier that prevents cursed energy from entering.
This makes it very difficult for curses to attack him, and it also allows him to deflect their attacks. Gojo’s other technique, Six Eyes, gives him incredible perception and allows him to see cursed energy, hence allowing him to see attacks coming and giving him time to react accordingly.
While it is hard to determine who exactly will end up overpowering the other, Satoru has claimed how he will be able to beat Sukuna even at his full power. One may think that Sukuna can defeat Satoru with the help of his sheer raw power, however, it is important to keep in mind Satoru has an edge over everyone due to his techniques.
