Naruto’s Baryon Mode

This brand-new transformation of Naruto was shown in his final battle against Isshiki Otsutsuki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, it is a new power-up achieved by combining the chakra of Naruto and Kurama to create a new type of energy that exceeds either of their reserves by a massive amount.

The transformation works on the principle of nuclear fusion, where the chakra of both Naruto and the Nine-Tailed Beast is combined to make the chakra far more powerful than their individual reserves. This grants Naruto the ability to be faster, stronger, and more durable.

However, the power-up comes with drawbacks, the major one being how it slowly drains away life force from both of them, hence, making the transformation only usable for a limited amount of time.

Luffy Gear 5

Luffy, the main protagonist in the One Piece anime, has his own new transformation, known as Gear 5. Luffy Gear 5, as it sounds, is 5th in succession to Luffy’s previous transformations and grants him the ability to manipulate and transform his environment, similar to a Paramecia Devil Fruit awakening.

Luffy first activated this gear during his final battle with Kaido on Onigashima, this new power-up allowed him to turn his body extremely rubbery and elastic, enabling him to stretch himself in unbelievable ways, the transformation also grants him the ability to create and manipulate fire, which he can combine with his other attacks to deal some serious damage.

Nonetheless, the abilities come with their own disadvantage, and as with his other gear transformations, Luffy Gear 5 can only be sustained for a limited period of time.

Who Would Win In Naruto Vs Luffy

Both Naruto Baryon Mode and Luffy Gear 5 respectively are very powerful transformations, of their own strengths and weaknesses.

Baryon mode is a very powerful transformation, exceeding Luffy Gear 5 in terms of raw power, however, it is also very draining on Naruto’s life force, hence, forcing him to use his attacks hastily and carefully. Luffy’s Gear 5 transformation makes him incredibly fast and agile, which could give Naruto some difficulty in landing a hit, but ultimately Luffy would be left vulnerable to attacks as he too has a limited time on his transformation.

Eventually, it will come down to who will be able to land an attack on the other first, this could be the factor that decides the fate of the fight in the end

Author’s Response

Contrary to fans’ behavior, the creators of both anime seem to not share the feelings of the fandom when it comes to the Naruto vs Luffy debate. In fact, they have immense respect for each other, and Naruto has even made a guest appearance in One Piece Chapter 766 release where both the protagonists could be seen together eating ramen.

In the end, fans need to understand it is quite pointless to compare the two characters against each other since both series have different power systems in place and different abilities and power-ups for each and every character.
