The choice of Rita Ora for the forthcoming Rimmel London Makeup Collection Rita, will ensure maximum publicity for the launch in Mid-March. Rita, due to appear in the long-awaited Fifty Shades of Grey movie in February 2015, has made a promo video for the Rimmel London brand. It shows various familiar images of London, along with Rita posing with bright red lips against psychedelic backdrops, appearing in several versions like a Warhol print, and blowing a Monroe-style kiss at the camera. After a quick re-cap of some of the images she scrawls ‘Rita’ in lipstick while the Union Jack is seen in green bearing the logo Rimmel London.
The make-up collection features twelve new nail colors and five color rush balm shades. The opaque nail lacquer, designed to glide on in a single coat, comes in a range of eye-catching colors: White Hot Love, Let’s Get Nude, Blindfold Blue (a vibrant mid-tone), Lose Your Lingerie (palest pink) Pillow Talk (pale blue) Breakfast in Bed (light turquoise) Don’t be Shy (shocking pink) Raw as Night (scarlet) Do Not Disturb (deep bluish green) Rita Rouge (black) Oragasm (vermilion) and Purple Rendezvous. Each bottle has a pop art cap, with Rita’s image on a stamp, and the background matches the shade of polish in the bottle.
The lip crayons are all shades of pink: ‘I want Candy,’ ‘Make me Blush,’ ‘Boom Chic a Boom,’ ‘All you need is Pink’ and ‘Viva violet.’ Promo pics show Rita in outfits from the video, such as a shiny pale pink dress with strappy sleeves and a glossy black bustier.
Rita says: “It was so much fun working with Rimmel. I guess we’re inspired by many of the same things – fashion, color, sounds, style, life in general and London in particular. I hope Rimmel girls everywhere will love these colours as much as I do!”
The Rita Ora for Rimmel London Makeup Collection launches in the spring, with nail polishes retailing at £3.69 and lip balms at £6.99.
