Along with the launch of the Divergent movie in March, the Sephora Divergent 2014 Makeup Collection will appear in the cosmetic retailer’s stand-alone stores and at JC Penneys. It will also be available online, earlier in the month. This will be a limited edition range, consisting of several neutral toned palettes for day wear. The Multi-Piece Collectors Kit, retails at $59.50, and there is a Multi-Piece Collector’s Palette ($32.50) and a 7-Piece Nail Art Kit ($27.50). The shades supposedly tone with the different social groups that form part of the story line of the novel and movie, and the names of the various shades suggest personal qualities. The advertising imagery references the ferris wheel that is featured in the movie.
The Collectors Kit contains three eye shadow palettes, a cheek palette and four lip glosses. Each eye shadow palette contains four eye shadows and a transforming gloss, to add a twinkle to any eye. It can be used wet or dry for scintillating effects in various combinations and permutations.
The cheek palette contains a couple of blushes with staying power, a bronzer and illuminator that will impart a lasting flow to the cheeks. For lips, there are four shiny lip glosses, while the kit also includes a double-ended brush and three ‘Get the Look’ cards for that perfectly Divergent look.
The more modestly-priced Divergent Multi-Piece Collector’s Palette has three opaque eyeshadows in shades of Candor Lace, Luminous Taupe and Envious Chocolate. The Blusher is Rosy Horizon and the bronzer Compassionate Copper. A shiny lip gloss comes in Artistic Mauve.
The Divergent 7 Piece Nail Art Kit has five durable nail lacquers and one High Gloss Transforming lacquer. There are also six Nail Water Tranfer Tattoos, themed with the movie. If you dream of looking like the movie’s female star, Shailene Woodley, the Sephora Divergent 2014 Makeup Collection should give you at least a hint of her ‘divergent’ glamour.
