Despite ongoing and recent controversy over sexual assault allegations, Terry Richardson is still working and going strong in the fashion photography industry. Just released, the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar China features supermodel, and teacup designer, Miranda Kerr on the cover and Richardson behind the lens.
Many more conservative markets have decided to not book Richardson for their upcoming photo shoots, including many American based magazines. Playboy isn’t scared off by the controversy however. They seem to be milking it. The racy magazine just announced that they intend to release a special feature issue with Richardson’s photographs on one hundred of those pages.
Miranda Kerr isn’t the only celebrity still working with Richardson. Cameron Diaz was shot by Richardson in a recent issue of Esquire U. Wonderland magazine also printed another of Richardson’s photographs of Mariah Carey. There is much gossip and speculation on Richardson’s behind the scenes antics, suggesting that he would never try to pull any of the things he is accused of with more known celebrities.
Australian goddess, Miranda Kerr is wearing a sheer black top and matching opaque panties, but her elegance and class shines through the debauchery that usually pervades Richardson’s aesthetics. She poses hand over head against a white backdrop. Her ruby lips and matching nail polish is the only colour added to the cover’s palette besides her radiant Swarovski earrings.
The Swarovski Crystal earrings are an appropriate styling focal point of the shoot, as Miranda Kerr is this ING model is at the forefront of their fall campaign. Look out for this Victoria’s Secret angel in other campaigns such as the latest Escada fragrance campaign. Kerr is also appearing on a number of other covers in recent months, including Elle Spain, Elle Belgium, and Vogue Taiwan. In addition to the cover on Harper’s Bazaar China, she has appeared on recent issued of the the magazine in the UK and Poland.
