Miss KK Plays Mademoiselle CC Once Again!

The return of Keira Knightley for Chanel Coco Mademoiselle 2014 Campaign has led to a dramatic video in which the star plays the femme fatale rôle once again to promote the classic fragrance. Working with ‘Atonement’ director Joe Wright, Keira appears in a stunning semi-transparent evening dress decorated with sparkling beads. To the music of the Zombies hit ‘But She’s Not There’ Keira appears at the perfume launch assailed by paparrazzi, ducking and diving from a high platform from which she teases a smitten male, playfully tossing him a bottle of the perfume. Scenes of Paris follow, with Keira driving a speedboat down the Seine dressed in a chic black and white outfit, while her adoring follower lingers on a bridge hoping for a close encounter.

The photo shoot by Mario Testino shows Keira posing in the same gorgeous dress, which echoes the star’s own assessment of the mood as ‘very silver and quite cool.’ Her makeup is sultry and smouldering, thanks to smoky eye shadow and shiny nude lipstick, and her expression oozes sensuality. She leans back dramatically to showcase the familiar Coco Mademoiselle bottle: square with a chunky stopper, and containing a very feminine pink perfume with a chic gold-edged pink label.

By her own admission, Keira was not a fan of women’s perfume before she tried the Chanel, as she found them too sweet and flowery. Coco Mademoiselle has more of a fresh oriental scent, which Keira said people commented on when she wore it. First created by Jacques Polge in 2001, the aroma is very feminine but in a youthful, sexy way that creates a stimulating impression. The inspiration for the fragrance was Coco Chanel herself, and Keira says she has a real admiration for her as a free spirit.

Both the TV ads and the print campaign for Chanel Coco Mademoiselle 2014 will be seen from April.
