Nathan Fillion, famous for his role in The Suicide Squad (2021), The Rookie (2018-2023) and the most recent Guardian Of The Galaxy Vol.3 has been cast again as Guy Gardener in the upcoming DCU film, Superman Legacy, which aims to mark the live-action rebirth of the DC universe.
The actor has been known to be quite a good friend of the famous director and producer James Gunn, which explains his appearance in the director’s recent work of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3 and now Superman Legacy.
Is it canon?
Yes, it is. It is a little confusing now considering the fact that Nathan Fillion has also played a part in The Suicide Squad, which is another work of the DC Universe. He played the role of TDK, or The Detachable Kid. His powers are pretty self-explanatory, based on the comic character of Arm-Fell-Off-Boy, the superhero can detach his arm, which he can then use to beat up his enemies with.

Is Nathan Fillion Right For The Role?
Users on Twitter seem to be debating whether it was right to cast Nathan Fillon for the role of Guy Gardner, a green lantern. Some have started to point out how it is very low for James Gunn to appoint his own friends consistently for a role in his movies. It is still unsure how Superman Legacy will be received when it finally comes out in July 2025, but for now, public opinion seems to be more on the negative side.
