The Italian clothing line, Via Spiga has unveiled its face for the 2014 fall advertising campaign. This is no other than the Russian actress and model Irina Shayk, who is also Cristiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend. To conceptualize and produce the campaign, the brand collaborated with Vogue Advertising Studio and the MODCo Group. With its main goal being to address the diverse facets of every woman’s life, which include reflecting the cosmopolitan woman’s feminine and polished style, it explores her passionate and sophisticated personality as well as her playful and sexy spirit.
The almost 30 year old brand has been known for bringing beautifully crafted, high fashion and authentically designed footwear and accessories to fashion conscious women in all parts of the world. The founder of MODCo and CCO Sara Rotman stated that the Via Spiga campaign ‘is a visual celebration of the sleek architectural designs that the brand is known for.’ To promote its authentic personality, they had to capitalize on both the brand’s rich Italian heritage and the modern roots. And, to pay homage to the Via Spiga’s Italian heritage, the colors of the Italian flag (red, white and green) are used across the three dimensions of the room; the wall, floor and ceiling hence serving as graphic stripes.
The shoot was done by the legendary photographer Miles Aldridge. He says that he opted for a white room for the shoot to serve as a white canvas so as to contrast Irina Shayk’s chaste beauty against the blocks of pure abstract color. His inspiration for the shoot is said to have been drawn from the 60’s abstract paintings and Michelangelo Antonionni’s cinema.
On feature are seven of the most playful yet sophisticated styles from Via Spiga’s fall collection which offers a wide variety of women’s footwear capturing every single aspect of the life of a modern woman; from work pumps to nightclub sandals and off-duty casual chic biker boots. All of these are made from beautiful leathers with elegant details. Shoes that have been given prominence include the Fortuna ankle boot, Femke over the knee boot, Fate pumps, Franya boot, Hue kitten heels, Bara motorcycle boot, Tarni open-toe boot and the Teaira sandals. Other than the shoes, Miss Shayk looks incredibly gorgeous in her colorfully conservative suits that perfectly compliment her amazing body and beauty.
This 2014 fall collection will debut in September and will be available on the Via Spiga website as well as other major department stores in US, including Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom.
