Bethesda’s Starfield is one of 2023’s most hyped games ever. This craze goes back to 2018 when the game was first announced at E3 2018, which was 7 years back from now. And while many wait eagerly for this game to finally come out in September, many worry it might face the same fate many games are facing in recent times.
What we are essentially talking about here is how games in the past couple of years have managed to create a consistent record of not having a fair enough gameplay experience at launch for the players.
What Are The System Requirements For Starfield
The official Steam page for the game reveals that one for at least the minimum would need quite a powerful computer to run it, and something which came as a surprise to many was how the game mentions SSD, or Solid State Drive as a minimum requirement instead of just Hard Disk Space.
This has troubled many fans who did not anticipate this feature before the release of the official system requirements. While we believe that the game will technically be able to run off a hard drive, it is definitely not recommended as the experience will be very bare-bones and suboptimal.
A user on Reddit even added, “I think loading times would be the least of your worries if you try to run this game off a hard drive. It’s most likely going to be a horrible stuttering mess due to the sheer amount of data that needs to be loaded on the fly while traversing the game world” on a thread exploring the possibilities of running Starfield on an older optical drive.

Will Starfield Suffer The Same Fate As Cyberpunk ?
While it is impossible to predict what will happen when Starfield finally releases to players on September 6th, 2023, and whether it will be the same as Cyberpunk 2077, a compelling argument would be how Bethesda has managed to create absolute masterpieces in the past with no difficulties at all.
Some games that would provide an example of the above would be the Fallout series, as well as the Elder Scroll series of games. Both of these have been a hit and a favorite amongst gamers and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future.
While controversies are a natural part of the process as a game nears its launch, fans wait eagerly as they have been doing so for years to finally get their hands on the game. It is also this time that Xbox has an advantage over PlayStation users as the game will be released to Xbox Series S/X as well as to PC but not PlayStation 5.
