Anime fans know that it’s pretty much inevitable to come across the same voice in different series, especially for those that prefer the dubbed version. English voice actors have a hard time recreating the emotions of the Japanese version, and it’s a lot easier said than done.
Anime Voice of our beloved Tanjiro Kamado
According to voice actor Sarah Natochenny, who voices “Ash” in Pokemon dubbing a scene in English has several poignant parts. Not only does she have to interpret a scene to determine her character’s emotions. In addition to her interpreting a scene to sway her character’s emotions, she also had to match her lines to the animated “mouth flap“. Keeping this in mind we can conclude that voice acting is no easy job, so it’s not surprising that animation studios tend to enlist voice actors for versatility.

Remarkable roles and Anime dubbing credits
Aguilar has a versatile list of voice-acting credits, but some of his most remarkable roles, which might feel nostalgic are listed below.
Genos in One-Punch Man
Aguilar apprehends Geno’s determination and devotion to Saitama flawlessly. He’s even known to be impromptu on some of his lines, which adds to the character’s glamour. The series follows bald Saitama, a “hero for fun” who became bored from defeating enemies with a single punch.
Eventually in Saitama’s quest for a worthy opponent, he befriends Genos, who Aguilar voices. Genos is a humanoid with a quest of finding the cyborg who killed his family and destroyed his hometown. After Saitama becomes Genos’s sense, Genos is often seen notarising Saitama’s words of wisdom in his training dairy. Aguilar dubbs Genos in Seasons 1 and 2, but our fandom still hopes for One Punch Man to get a Season 3.

Arthur Pendragon in The Seven Deadly Sins
Furthermore, Aguilar captures Arthur’s juvenile naivety and strength in life. He also does a great job of capturing Arthur’s English accent, which is a nice touch.
The series is a pretzel on the Knights of the Round Table legend, with the knight’s seven sins. The ceremonial knights form the most influential bands of Holy Knights, but they dissolve after being accused of assassinating the Great Holy Knight, a crime they did not commit. The series mainly circles the last princess of Liones, Elizabeth, who rallies up with the leader and one of the most powerful knights, Meliodas, in the yearning of reuniting the sins to reclaim Liones.
Aguilar captures Arthur Pendragon, with perfection. The juvenile king of Camelot and owner of Excalibur, like the real legend. Arthur’s debut is when he shows up to Liones with a band of knights wishing to see the king, but is shocked to find out that there’s been a coup. He then resolves to support the Seven Deadly Sins and Elizabeth in restoring Liones and concluding the Holy War.
Koichi Hirose in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
Aguilar’s performance as Koichi is both hilarious and heartwarming. He perfectly captures Koichi’s awkwardness and his growing confidence as the series progresses.
In conclusion, one of Zach Aguilar’s noteworthy roles is ins the Netflix original anime, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. This series is about multiple generations of the Jostar family, who all possess some form of psychic powers.
Aguilar makes his debut as the voice of Koichi Hirose in the fourth segment of the series, titled Diamond is Unbreakable. Koichi is a first-year high school student who befriends Josuke, that era’s JoJo. Eventually, he engages himself with Josuke’s problems and supports his formidable friend to protect their hometown from the darkness. Koichi even finds himself with his psychic powers after being hit with a spectral bow and arrow.
