Thirteen months after having her first child, Olive, Drew Barrymore, and her husband Will Kopelman are expecting a second baby. The news was confirmed by the actress’s rep during an interview with E! News and US Weekly. But even before the confirmation, tongues were already wagging about the possible pregnancy after many observers noticed the soft outlines of a bump through her dress when she attended the LACMA Art + Film Gala. Drew’s shopping visit to West Hollywood a few days later did little to douse the rumors.
Drew’s pregnancy announcement is unlikely to be a surprise to many around her. The Charlie’s Angel star has made no secret of her desire to have a second child. During a Tonight show in October 2013, Barrymore gushed about her baby, Olive and admitted that she would like to start have another baby almost immediately. A former child star, the 38-year old said she wanted Olive to have a sibling. “I grew up as an only child,” she pointed out while talking to Leno, “and although that really works for some people and for some parents that’s the way they want to do it.”
After dating for most of 2011, Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman, an art consultant announced their engagement in 2012. The couple married later that year and welcomed their first child, Olive Barrymore Kopelman on September 26, 2012. During an interview with Oprah in 2012, Drew gushed about the joys of motherhood, describing it as having “the worst crush of your life.” Since her marriage, Barrymore has reduced her acting and directing commitments to focus on raising her family.
“I want the kids in the back rolling their eyes at Mom and Dad. I want Rusty and Audrey, theme parks and the whole nine.” She said.
