The Balmain Spring 2017 campaign
Balmain has been going through many changes lately, from its acquisition by Mayhoola to the expansion of its collection, we were eager to see what Olivier Rousteing has for us in 2017.
In their Spring 2017 campaign, Olivier threw subtlety out the door. Balmain’s campaign contains several bold nipple-baring looks and incorporates music, a feature Rousteing sees as inseparable from fashion. It features a diverse cast of models walking down a California highway surrounded by enormous speakers like an army; the #BalmainArmy
Rousteing’s use of music as an aspect of his campaigns is nothing new and in this campaign he collaborated with photographer Steven Klein and supermodels Doutzen Kroes, Isabeli Fontana, and Natasha Poly.
The campaign features sheer tops and flowy dresses. The male models have long flowy hair as they stroll down the mysterious highway. All we can say is, Rousteing’s obsession with music and his distant relationship with subtlety has brought about an incredible Spring 2017 campaign.
