Tameka Foster’s son, Kyle Glover has been confirmed as brain dead at Atlanta’s Children’s Healthcare clinic. A speeding jet ski struck him in while on vacation in Lake Lanier. The eleven year old was quickly airlifted to the health facility but it is reported that no brain activity was reported when he arrived.
Tameka Foster, Kyle’s mother and Usher’s ex-wife had a plane chartered for her by the singer to go and be beside her son. She was said to have been out of town at the time of the accident. Usher joined her at the hospital later on Sunday and the two have not left the facility since. It is said that no decision has been made on whether to take Kyle off the life support system.
Glover was relaxing on a floating aid on the recreational lake when the jet ski struck him on the head. He was unconscious and unresponsive when emergency aid took him out of the water. A spokesperson for the Department of Natural Resources told reporters that the department’s Critical Incident Response team will attempt to recreate the events of the accident to find out what occurred.
The rider of the jet ski has not been arrested but has been questioned by authorities. It is said that the report made to the police by the Critical Incident Response Team will determine whether the driver will be charged or not.
Brain death is an irreversible condition that occurs when the brain can no longer receive oxygen from blood. It means the person is in a coma and has ceased breathing. The situation is grim for young Kyle and his family since there hasn’t been a case of someone waking up from the state. A crowd held vigil outside the health facility praying for Kyle. We can only hope for a miracle and pray that he makes it.
